Fancy An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life? That’s what Netflix is promising subscribers this weekend, as Steve Martin and Martin Short team up for a comedy special.
A night in with your two favourite amigos, it was filmed from a national tour conducted by Martin and Short in the US, bringing their brand of comedy to live audiences, alongside Martin’s bluegrass band – the Steep Canyon Rangers – and Jeff Babko, the pianist from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! band. It’s directed by Marcus Raboy and executive produced by Martin, Short, Lorne Michaels, Erin David and Marc Gurvitz.
What does the end result look like? A new trailer released by Netflix gives us a taste, as we see the pair look back over their careers, perform musical skits – and, of course, spend most of the time insulting each other.
An Evening You Will Forget For The Rest Of Your Life premieres on Netflix on Friday 25th May. Here’s the video:

Steve Martin and Martin Short are heading to Netflix with their own comedy special.
The two amigos reunited in 2016 for a national tour, following Martin’s return to stand-up comedy that same year. The pair traveled the US bringing their brand of comedy to audiences, alongside Martin’s bluegrass band the Steep Canyon Rangers and Jeff Babko, the pianist from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! band.
Titled Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life, the tour featured recollections of their careers and lives in showbiz, as well as musical sketches and other comedy skits. Now, they’re taking that show-on-the-road to stream on the web, inking a deal with Netflix to release the special online.
“Like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle except for the pay!” is how Martin described their deal, as he announced the duo’s agreement on Twitter.
