Ratatouille TikTok musical to stream online

A new musical based upon Disney’s Ratatouille will stream online today, kicking off 2021 in the most 2020 way possible.
In autumn last year, with theatres closed, Broadway fans on TikTok collaborated on the project – a crowdsourced musical made up of 60-second snatches of songs, dances, make-up designs and puppetry. The result was an unlikely organic creation that, now, will have an even unlikelier online production.
Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical will be performed online by a star-studded team of celebrities and TikTok creators, with Tituss Burgess playing Remy the rat, who befriends lowly kitchen worker Alfredo Linguini (Andrew Barth Feldman) and helps him to rise to the top of the Paris restaurant scene – much to the suspicion of imperious critic Anton Ego (André De Shields). The production is directed by Lucy Moss (Six: The Musical) and has already sold more than 80,000 tickets.
Prices start from $5, with money going towards The Actors Fund. It will premiere at midnight on Saturday 2nd January, UK time, and will be available to purchase and stream on-demand for 72 hours. To buy a ticket, head to TodayTix.com.
