A thousand likes in only a minute. That’s the norm for Ana (Larissa Manoela), a digital influencer in Netflix’s new original movie Airplane Mode.
The new trailer for the film shows Ana’s routine as the face of a famous clothes brand directed by the shady Carola (Katiusca Canoro). Also, it reveals one important detail: she collects as many traffic fines as social media likes. One day, while driving and using the phone at the same time, she crashes her car and sees her life go upside down. Or, let’s say, the girl goes on airplane mode.
As a punishment to learn how to live without her smartphone at all times, she is sent to a forced vacation on the farm of her grandfather Germano (Erasmo Carlos) – totally switched off, with no internet. There, she has to help him in his garage. However, more than fixing old cars, Ana gets the chance to reconnect with real life and to find out who she really is.
Based on a Mexican script by Alberto Bremer, the Brazilian comedy is written by Renato Fagundes (Os Penetras 2, Vai que Cola – O Começo) and Alice Name-Bomtempo (Vai que Cola) and directed by César Rodrigues (Vai que Cola – O Filme, Minha Mãe é um Peça 2).
Airplane Mode premieres on 23rd January on Netflix. Here’s the video:

Production has officially lifted off on Airplane Mode, Netflix new original comedy.
The Brazilian film, which stars Erasmo Carlos and Larissa Manoela, tells the story of young Ana (Manoela), who studied fashion design dreaming of becoming a great stylist. But she dropped everything to become digital influencer of a famous brand called True Fashion, led by executive Carola (Canoro). Ana spends so much time posting pictures and videos to promote the brand that she won’t put away her cell phone even when driving. One day, she has a car accident and is forced to get away from social media: she ends up in the farm of her grandfather Germano (Carlos), in the countryside, where she has to go through a digital detox.
There, Ana will help him to fix his old Mustang together with João (André Frambach) and his mother Antônia (Dani Ornellas), who own a mechanical workshop in the area. Meanwhile, Ana finds out stories about her family and initiates a journey of self-discovery.
Based on a script by Alberto Bremmer, the film is written by Renato Fagundes (Os Penetras 2, Vai que Cola – O Começo) and Alice Name-Bomtempo (Vai que Cola – série). It is directed by César Rodrigues (Vai que Cola – O Filme, Minha Mãe é um Peça 2), with Luiz Noronha (A Fábrica) on board as producer.
