When a show begins its first glimpse of a new season with the words “come on, Eileen”, you know you’re in for a good ride. That’s certainly the case with the first teaser trailer for Preacher Season 2, which crams more outrageous carnage and daft spectacle into 30 seconds than some shows manage in a whole run.
The genre-bending thrill ride, developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg from Garth Ennis’ comics, follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Oscar nominee Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), as they embark on a road trip to find God, and that road trip looks set to be as entertaining as ever.
Alongside Cooper, Negga and Gilgun, returning cast members for Season 2 include Ian Coletti and Graham McTavish, with new faces including Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders) and Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul).
Episode 1 of Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the UK on Monday 26th June, with Episode 2 available on Tuesday 27th June. New episodes follow every Tuesday, within 24 hours of their US debut on AMC. You can catch up with Season 1 on Amazon Prime Video – and read our reviews of the first season here.

Preacher returns to our screens this summer, AMC and Amazon Prime Video have announced.
Preacher Season 2 will be released in the UK in June, with Amazon once again being the exclusive home of the supernatural thriller.
The genre-bending thrill ride, developed for television by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg from Garth Ennis’ comics, follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Oscar nominee Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), as they embark on a road trip to find God, and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
The Sony Pictures Television and AMC Studios co-production is executive produced by showrunner Sam Catlin (Breaking Bad), as well as Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures, Neal H. Moritz and Ori Marmur for Original Film and Vivian Cannon, Jason Netter and Ken F. Levin.
Alongside Cooper, Negga and Gilgun, returning cast members for Season 2 include Ian Coletti and Graham McTavish. Season 2 has also added several new faces to its ensemble, including Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders), Pip Torrens (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul), Malcolm Barrett (Dear White People), Justin Prentice (13 Reasons Why) and Ronald Guttman (Mozart in the Jungle).
Episode 1 of Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday 20th June, with new episodes following every Tuesday, within 24 hours of their US debut on AMC. The show’s sophomore outing will span 13 episodes, expanded from Season 1’s 10.
AMC and Amazon have also unveiled a bunch of first look photos of Preacher’s second run. The six images include some behind-the-scenes shots of Dominic Cooper, as well as a glimpse of the potential awkwardness of a Jesse-Tulip-Cassidy love triangle, not to mention a look at the Saint of Killers hot on the trio’s trail and, of course, Cassidy getting in trouble with the law.
