Netflix will explore what went wrong with the disastrous Fyre festival in a new documentary. Simply titled Fyre, the film will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the infamous unraveling of the music event.

Chris Smith, the director behind Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond, will give us a first-hand look into the crash of Fyre, as told by the organisers themselves. Since the events happened, the people behind the festival faced a number of lawsuits and charges, with founder Billy McFarland sentenced to six years in prison earlier this year.
Smith, whose work has often mined the curious aspects of the American Dream, will produce the movie through Library films, alongside Danny Gabai (VICE Studios) and Mick Purzycki (Jerry Media). Fyre is exec-produced by Brett Kincaid, Max Pollack, Matthew Rowean, Gabrielle Bluestone, James Ohliger and Elliot Tebele.
Netflix’s Fyre will be released globally on Friday 18th January 2019. Here’s your first look at the documentary:
