Elisabeth Shue and Julie Delpy will both be On the Verge of Netflix, as they sign up to star in the streamer’s new series.
The 12-episode series, which is a co-production between Canal+ and Netflix, follows four female friends in their late forties, who chose to use midlife not as a time to mourn their lost youth, but as an opportunity for personal reinvention, with the hope of finally living lives that embody their beliefs and values.
Delpy, who is best known for the Before Sunrise trilogy and Two Days in Paris, created the series and co-wrote it with Alexia Landeau. She also exec-produced alongside Michael Gentile and Lauraine Heftler of The Film TV, Rola Bauer of Studiocanal and Olivier Gauriat of Barnstormer.
Shue, Oscar-nominated for Leaving Las Vegas and recently starring in Amazon’s The Boys, will serve as an executive producer too, and will play one of the lead quartet, alongside Delpy.
Canal+ will air the series in France, with Netflix releasing it in the rest of world.
