Netflix officially wants more of Nobody Wants This, as the romantic comedy will return for a second season.
The romantic comedy follows a relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Kristen Bell), and a rabbi, Noah (lAdam Brody). The unlikely couple find themselves navigating their differing outlooks on life and work, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families – including her sister, Morgan (Justine Lupe), and his brother, Sasha (Timothy Simons).
Created by Erin Foster, the series rapidly entered Netflix’s list of the Top 10 most-watched TV shows, racking up 15.9 million views in its first two weeks.
“Adam Brody and Kristen Bell have instant chemistry in this wonderfully frank, funny and thoughtful rom-com,” we wrote in our review.
“Creating Nobody Wants This will forever be a career highlight for me,” Foster said. “The incredible cast, crew, producers, and executives all made this into the show it is today, and to experience viewers’ reactions to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed.”
Joining the team as executive producers and showrunners for Season 2 are Jenni Konner (Girls) and Bruce Eric Kaplan (Girls, No Good Deed, Six Feet Under), and Nora Silver (Deli Boys, Welcome to Chippendales, Single Drunk Female) is on board as an executive producer.
“I’m so lucky to be able to continue this story,” said Foster, “and to do it alongside Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan, who I’ve been such a fan of since Girls. Justice for healthy relationships being the most romantic!”
