Master of None returns for a second season this May – and we’ve got our first look at Aziz Ansari back in action.
After traveling abroad, Season 2 sees Dev (Ansari) return to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.
Master of None was created by Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang who also serve as executive producers along with Michael Schur, Dave Becky, David Miner and Igor Srubshchik. Its second run promises to dive into subjects as diverse as the plight of dating in a digital world, religion, coming out to your family and, most importantly, how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner.
All episodes will premiere on Friday 12th May. Here’s a trailer:
Master of None Season 2 to premiere on 12th May

Master of None will return for a second season this May, Aziz Ansari has announced.
Netflix’s original comedy, which sees the comic play a loose version of himself, was created by Ansari and Alan Yang who also serve as executive producers, along with Michael Schur, Dave Becky, David Miner and Igor Srubshchik.
It first premiered at the end of 2015, and swiftly won a whole heap of fans.
“The key to Master Of None’s freshness is that the show’s creators focus as much on what it is to be a minority in the entertainment industry, and in normal life, as much as they tackle the broader spectrum of love and life in a 2015 metropolis,” we wrote in our review.
It was no surprise, then, that the streaming renewed the programme for a second run last year. After traveling abroad, Season 2 sees Dev (Ansari) return to New York to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.
Now, Ansari has announced that Season 2 will premiere worldwide on Friday 12th May.

Netflix renews Master of None for Season 2
12th February 2016
Netflix has renewed Master of None for a second season.
The original comedy series is written and directed by star Aziz Ansari, best known for his role on the award-winning sitcom Parks and Recreation.
The show (co-created with Alan Yang) follows the personal and professional life of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life.
The comedy is loosely based on Ansari’s own experiences.
“The key to Master Of None’s freshness is that the show’s creators focus as much on what it is to be a minority in the entertainment industry, and in normal life, as much as they tackle the broader spectrum of love and life in a 2015 metropolis,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Ansari announced the news on Twitter last night.
