It’s not long now until we’re back on the Ton, and a new trailer gives a closer look at what’s in store for Bridgerton Season 3.
Season 3 will bring to the centre-stage Penelope (Nichola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), with Miss Featherington certainly fatigued by the misleading actions of Colin – it would seem that this wallflower is done being trampled.
You can see them in action on 16th May, when Part 1 drops on Netflix, followed by Part 2 on 13th June.

Netflix unveils first images from Bridgerton Season 3
18th June 2023
Penelope and Colin are taking centre-stage in Bridgerton Season 3, and new images give us a first glimpse of them stepping up their romantic game.
Created by longtime Shonda Rhimes collaborator Chris Van Dusen (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice), the Shondaland drama is based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling series of novels and set in the sexy, lavish and competitive world of Regency London high society. At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family. Comprised of eight close-knit siblings, they must navigate the upper ten thousand’s marriage mart in search of romance, adventure, and love.
After Season 2’s focus on Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), Season 3 will focus on Penelope and Colin. Season 2 concluded with Penelope hearing that Colin would never court her – and her secret penmanship has left her friendship with Eloise (Claudia Jessie) severely frayed.
Joining Nicola Coughlan as Penelope and Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton will be Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Jessie, newcomer Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton), as well as Adjoa Andoh (Lady Agatha Danbury), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Jessica Madsen (Cressida Cowper), Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich), Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), Polly Walker (Lady Portia Featherington) and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte).
Three new additions to the cast include Daniel Francis as the charming Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips as the wealthy Lord Debling and James Phoon as the dashing Harry Dankworth.
Hannah Dodd joins Bridgerton for Season 3
12th March 2022
Hannah Dodd has joined the cast of Bridgerton for Season 3, taking over the part of Francesca Bridgerton.
A record 82 million households watched Season 1 of Bridgerton in its first four weeks, making it Netflix’s biggest series. It was swiftly renewed for a second season and then a third and fourth. When Season 3 arrives, though, there’ll be a slight change in the ensemble, with Dodd replacing Ruby Stokes as Frances Bridgerton, after Stoke left to take the lead on another project for Netflix (Lockwood & Co.).
Francesca is a bit of a mystery within her chatty, extroverted family. Despite her reserved nature, she goes along to get along when it comes to society affairs, fortified with a dry wit and pragmatism that confound the fickle ton yet seem to draw attention when she least desires it.
Dodd, who played a recurring role in two seasons of Harlots, is no stranger to Netflix, having appeared in Anatomy of a Scandal as the younger version of series lead Sienna Miller. Dodd has also filmed a supporting role in Netflix’s sequel to Enola Holmes.
Production on Bridgerton Season 3 will begin this summer.
Netflix renews Bridgerton for Season 3 and 4
13th April 2021
Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for Season 3 and 4.
From the glittering ballrooms of Mayfair to the aristocratic palaces of Park Lane and beyond, the series unveils a seductive, sumptuous world replete with intricate rules and dramatic power struggles, where no one is truly ever on steady ground. At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family. Comprised of eight close-knit siblings, this funny, witty, daring, and clever group must navigate the upper ten thousand’s marriage mart in search of romance, adventure, and love.
A record 82 million households watched Season 1 of Bridgerton in its first four weeks, making it Netflix’s biggest series.
“Be prepared to swoon over this saucy, sumptuous a seriously fun romantic romp,” we wrote in our review.
The show is already set to return for a second run – without Regé-Jean Page as the Duke of Hastings – and in keeping with the novels, tells a new romance story – that of Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey). Sex Education’s Simone Ashley will co-star as Kate Sharma, a smart, headstrong young woman newly arrived in London who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.
With production underway on the sophomore season, Netflix has already renewed the programme for another two.
“Bridgerton swept us off our feet,” said Bela Bajaria, VP, Global TV. “The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
Shonda Rhimes added: “From the first time I read Julia Quinn’s delicious Bridgerton series, I knew these were stories that would captivate a viewing audience. But the evolution of this adaptation would not be a success without the many significant contributions of the entire Shondaland team. This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work and I feel incredibly grateful to have partners as collaborative and creative as Netflix. Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”
