“Is it Clooney? Is George on the phone? Please God let it be Clooney.”

That’s Amy Poehler playing… Amy Poehler in Netflix’s Bill Murray Christmas special.

Titled A Very Murray Christmas, the one-off comedy show arrives at the start of December – just 21 days before Christmas. The only hitch? Most of the celebrities (apart from Bill and Amy) don’t seem to have turned up for his seasonal shindig.

Directed by Sofia Coppola, who wrote it with Mitch Glazer and Murray, the show is designed to be an homage to the classic variety show, with Murray waiting at the Carlyle hotel for his starry pals to arrive, despite a terrible snow storm wreaking havoc in New York City.

Netflix is certainly promising a fancy affair, with a cast that includes Paul Shaffer, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, the band Phoenix, Rashida Jones and Miley Cyrus. Now, a new trailer gives us our first glimpse of the end result – including an against-type turn from Arrested Development’s Michael Cera. Oh, and George Clooney.
