Netflix has snapped up the UK rights to supernatural series Beyond.
The show, which got the green light from ABC Family Worldwide last year, is created by Adam Nussdorf, whose previous credits include writing several episodes of TRON: Uprising and the Once Upon a Time spin-off, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.
The show follows Holden, a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years, only to discover new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try and figure out what happened to him during those 12 years, how to survive a world that changed while he was gone, and answer the question, why did this happen to him?
Burkely Duffield stars as Holden, with Dilan Gwyn co-starring as the mysterious Willia, who seems to be on his side.
The show premiered in the US on Monday 2nd January 2017 with a double-bill on Freeform. As with many modern sci-fi shows, though, the makers seem aware that audiences will want to binge-watch it, released all 10 episodes of the first season for streaming on Hulu as well as Freefom. In the UK, meanwhile, Netflix has snapped up the rights to the show, with all 10 episodes arriving on Netflix UK on Tuesday 3rd January 2017, within 24 hours of their all-at-once US debut.
Beyond is available to binge now, as part of a £7.49 monthly subscription.
