Netflix is taking us to Centaurworld this summer – not a theme park but a new animated musical.
The series sees a hardened war horse transported away from battle find herself in a land that’s inhabited by silly, singing centaurs of all shapes and sizes. Desperate to return home, she befriends a group of these magical creatures and embarks on a journey that will test her more than any battle she’s ever faced before.
The animation hails from first-time showrunner Megan Nicole Dong (How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie), a 2017 honoree of Variety’s 10 Animators to Watch List. Meghan McCarthy (My Little Pony franchise) will serve as story editor and Toby Chu (Bao) will be the series composer.
The 20-episode series premieres on Friday 30th July.
Centaurworld: Season 1 is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
