This Friday sees Derren Brown head to Netflix for his latest special, Sacrifice.
Spanning two continents and drawing on the expertise of actors, stunt coordinators and ballistic experts, the celebrated illusionist will attempt to radically transform one man’s prejudices. Through the use of covert psychological techniques, Derren will create a scenario in which his subject has to decide whether or not to make the ultimate sacrifice: laying down his life for a complete stranger he wouldn’t normally identify with.
The special is produced by Vaudeville Productions (Derren Brown: The Push, Derren Brown: Miracle), the showrunner is Ben Jessop and the Executive Producer is Andrew O’Connor. It was announced by Netflix at this year’s Edinburgh TV Festival, as part of a wider slate of unscripted originals, including global culinary competition show The Final Table, a documentary series uncovering the stories of magicians who died performing dangerous stunts (Death by Magic), footballing series Sunderland Till I Die and action comedy game show Flinch.
Sacrifice will premiere on Netflix on Friday 19th October. Read on below for the trailer, or click here to see a full guide to what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in October.
Derren Brown: Sacrifice is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
