Netflix has cancelled Cursed after one season.
From Frank Miller and Thomas Wheeler, the series tells the familiar story of King Arthur through the eyes of Nimue (Katherine Langford). After her mother’s death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue becomes a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.
Co-starring Peter Mullan, the series premiered last summer on Netflix.
“Upsettingly less than the sum of its parts, this Arthurian retelling doesn’t live up to its noble intentions,” we wrote in our review.
Now, a year later, Deadline reports that the show will not be returning. Netflix hasn’t made an official announcement about the cancellation, but it has released the cast from their contracts to pursue other projects.
