“We’re four independent professional women. For at least 10 minutes, let’s try not to mention…” That’s the sound of Valeria returning to Netflix for Season 2.
Based on the books by Elísabet Benavent, the comedy-drama follows Valeria, a writer in crisis, both with her novels and her husband. Thankfully, her three best friends, Carmen, Lola, and Nerea, support her through her adventures, whilst having ones of their own. Valeria and her friends are immersed in a whirlwind of emotions about love, friendship, jealousy, unfaithfulness, doubts, heartbreak, secrets, work, worries, joy and dreams of the future.

Trailer: Valeria arrives on Netflix this May

Netflix is introducing subscribers worldwide to Valeria this May.
A young writer in search of inspiration (played by Diana Gómez) Valeria is trying to find her way through life, joined by her three friends Lola (Silma López, Cosas de la vida), Carmen (Paula Malia, Benvinguts a la família) and Nerea (Teresa Riott, Barcelona nit d’estiu). Ibrahim Al Shami (El secreto de puente viejo) plays Adrián, Valeria’s husband, and Benjamín Alfonso (Educando a Nina) is the mysterious Victor.
The series is based on the popular books by Elísabet Benavent, who is a creative consultant on the project. It sees Valeria take refuge from his creative and personal life crisis in her three best friends, as they navigate love, jealousy, infidelity, doubts, lack of love, secrets, work, worries, joys and dreams about the future.
It premieres on Netflix on Friday 8th May. Here’s the trailer:

Production begins on Netflix’s Valeria

Production is now underway on Netflix’s Valeria.
The series is based on the popular literary saga published by Penguin Random House Editorial Group that has sold 450.000 copies in Spanish. The author, Elísabet Benavent, is a creative consultant on the project, which introduces us to Valeria, a young writer in search of inspiration.
The series stars Diana Gómez (45 revoluciones, Sé quién eres) as Valeria, joined by her three friends Lola (Silma López, Cosas de la vida), Carmen (Paula Malia, Benvinguts a la família) and Nerea (Teresa Riott, Barcelona nit d’estiu). Ibrahim Al Shami (El secreto de puente viejo) plays Adrián, Valeria’s husband, and Benjamín Alfonso (Educando a Nina) is the mysterious Victor.
Valeria is a writer in crisis, as much for her novels as for her husband and the emotional distance between them. She takes refuge in her three best friends: Carmen, Lola and Nerea, who support her during her trip. Valeria and her friends are immersed in a whirlwind of emotions about love, friendship, jealousy, infidelity, doubts, lack of love, secrets, work, worries, joys and dreams about the future.
Produced by Plano a Plano, this series is written by María López Castaño alongside Aurora Gracià, Almudena Ocaña and Fernanda Eguiarte. Valeria’s team is completed by the two directors Inma Torrente and Nely Reguera.
The series will premiere in 2020.
