Trailer: Money Heist returns for Season 5 Part 2
David Farnor | On 04, Nov 2021
The world’s greatest heist comes to an end this December, and a new trailer gives us a first look at the final chapter.
Created by Alex Pina and produced by Vancouver Media, the Spanish heist thriller has consistently been one of Netflix’s most-watched non-English-language series. After being picked up by Netflix to be an original production for a third and fourth run, the fifth season will officially be the final outing for the programme, split into two parts of five episodes each.
Part 1, which arrived in September, picked up as the gang were shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They had managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment was upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor had been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, didn’t have an escape plan. Just when it seemed like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy came on the scene that was much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. What began as a robbery soon turned into a war.
Part 2 will focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. “It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure,” said Pina.
You can chart that departure on 3rd December, when Season 5 Part 2 premieres on Netflix. Here’s the trailer:
Money Heist Part 5 set for September release
24th May 2021
Money Heist will return for its fifth and final season this September, Netflix has confirmed.
One of the most famous heists in TV history will come to an end in two instalments of five episodes each. Part 1 will pick up as the gang has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours. They have managed to rescue Lisbon, but their darkest moment is upon them after losing one of their own. The Professor has been captured by Sierra and, for the first time, doesn’t have an escape plan. Just when it seems like nothing else could go wrong, an enemy comes on the scene that is much more powerful than any they’ve faced: the army. The end of the greatest heist in history is approaching, and what began as a robbery will turn into a war.
“When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the 10-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In Volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure,” said Álex Pina, the show’s creator.
Volume 1 will be released on 3rd September, with Volume 2 following on 3rd December. Here’s the teaser trailer announcing the release:
