Watch: Netflix unwraps trailer for A Castle for Christmas

Netflix is giving us A Castle for Christmas this November, and a new trailer gives us a first proper glimpse at its latest festive outing.
The logically titled movie follows Sophie (Shields), a famous American author who travels to Scotland and finds herself wanting to buy a castle, as you do. But the prickly owner, Myles (Elwes), who just happens to be a Scottish duke, is reluctant to sell to a foreigner. Working to find a compromise, the pair constantly butt heads, but along the way they just may find more than they bargained for (which may or may not involve a castle).
More surprising is the fact the film is directed by Mary Lambert, who is best known for helming Pet Sematary. You can see what she makes of a Hallmark-like premise on 26th November, when A Castle for Christmas premieres on Netflix.
Here’s the trailer:
A Castle for Christmas is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
First look: Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes star in Netflix’s A Castle for Christmas

Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes will be unwrapping A Castle for Christmas on Netflix, and new images give us a first look at the duo in full-on festive castlebound action.
The film is directed by Mary Lambert, who is best known for helming Pet Sematary, and has more recently ventured away from horror to helm episodes of Arrow and The Blacklist. It is written by a group of festive film veterans, including Kim Beyer-Johnson (Snowkissed, A Christmas Carousel), couple Tippi and Neal Dobrofsky (who wrote The Christmas Doctor and Write Before Christmas – both since they penned Netflix’s Holiday in the Wild) and newcomer Ally Carter. It is produced by another seasoned seasonal filmmaker, Brad Krevoy (Netflix’s The Princess Switch trilogy, A Christmas Carousel).
You can unwrap the end result on 26th November, when the movie premieres on Netflix. Until then, here are the first images, featuring Cary Elwes, Brooke Shields, a castle and Christmas.
