Molly Shannon is leading a wave of new additions to Marlon Wayans’ new Netflix movie, Sextuplets.
Sextuplets tells the story of Alan (Marlon Wayans), a man embarking on a personal journey to meet his birth mother before the arrival of his first child. When Alan meets his brother, Russell, he discovers that he was born a sextuplet and decides to seek out his four other siblings (all played by Wayans). Together, the two brothers set out on a road trip to track down the rest of the family that they’ve never known, and Alan quickly realizes he may have gotten more than he bargained for.
Now, Wayans, Wayans, Wayans, Wayans and Wayans have got some company, with Divorce, Other People and SNL star Shannon joining the cast. Other new additions include Glynn Turman (Queen Sugar, How To Get Away With Murder, Bumblebee), Michael Ian Black (Insatiable, Another Period, This is 40, Wet Hot American Summer) and Debbi Morgan (Power), alongside the already attached Bresha Webb (Marlon).
Netflix previously partnered with Wayans, Alvarez and Tiddes on Naked, a remake of the 2000 Swedish film Naken. The film is produced by Wayans and Rick Alvarez (White Chicks, Naked) and Nathan Reimann, directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Naked) and written by Mike Glock (Return of the Mac), Alvarez and Wayans.
Principal photography has now commenced in Atlanta and Netflix will release the film globally in 2019.
Marlon Wayans to star six times in Netflix’s Sextuplets

Marlon Wayans is reteaming with Netflix for a new original comedy. After Naked, the Netflix remake of the 2000 Swedish film Naken, Netflix has cast Wayans six times over in Sextuplets.
The actor will play all six leading roles in the movie, which tells the story of Alan (Marlon Wayans), a man embarking on a personal journey to meet his birth mother before the arrival of his first child.
Wayans says he is “excited to be in business with Netflix on yet another project”.
“I love how they embrace comedy and diversity,” he adds. “I am looking forward to doing the thing I love most… comedy.”
The film also marks a reunion for Wayans and director Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Naked), as well as Rick Alvarez, who produced alongside Wayans and Nathan Reimann. It is written by Mike Glock (Return of the Mac), Alvarez and Wayans, and will co-star Bresha Webb (Marlon) opposite Wayans.
“Ever since we received the script from Nathan Reimann, Marlon and I have considered this movie a labor of love,” comments Alvarez. “Couldn’t be happier to team up once again with Mike Tiddes and Netflix.”
Principal photography is scheduled to being in September in Atlanta. Netflix will release Sextuplets globally in 2019.
