Mafiosa will return to Walter Presents this April for its two final seasons.

The French crime saga, set on the dazzling island of Corsica, first premiered in France a decade ago, and follows young lawyer Sandra Paoli (Hélène Fillières), who finds herself the head of the notorious Paoli clan, following the death of François Paoli. As an inexperienced gang leader in a dark and dangerous world, she seduces, threatens and manipulates her way through the treacherous waters – and proves a ruthless and uncompromising leader.

Created and directed by Hughes Pagan, the result was one of French TV’s biggest hits, running on Canal+ for five epic seasons of blood, betrayal and blackmail. Now, the Paoli clan are back for a final, blood reign this spring, with Season 4 and 5 both hitting All 4’s streaming service on Friday 7th April.

The fourth season opens with Sandra Paoli exiled to Paris, but she has her eyes set firmly on revenge. Ruthless and uncompromising, Sandra will stop at nothing to reclaim her throne and the great fissures dividing the clan prove fatal.

“A superb series that is never lacking in guts, skill or anything else,” we wrote in our review of Season 1. “This French crime drama took 10 years to land on UK screens – it’s more than worth the wait.”

Other series returning to Walter Presents in April include Season 3 of award-winning French political thriller Spin, which will air on More4, following the finale of The Team. Spanish female prison sizzler Locked Up will also premiere its second season on Channel 4.
