Walter Presents Mafiosa Season 2 and 2 this November

French crime thriller Mafiosa returns to Walter Presents for Season 2 and 3 this November.
The gripping mob saga, set in modern-day Corsica, follows brilliant young lawyer Sandra Paoli (Hélène Fillières), who finds herself the head of the notorious Paoli clan, following the death of François Paoli. As an inexperienced gang leader in a dark and dangerous world, Sandra must seduce, threaten and manipulate her way through the treacherous waters – and proves a ruthless and uncompromising leader.
“A superb series that is never lacking in guts, skill or anything else,” we wrote in our review of Season 1, which was released on Walter Presents earlier this year. “This French crime drama took 10 years to land on UK screens – it’s more than worth the wait.”
The second season opens with Sandra’s brother and right hand man in police custody, set to go down for life, unless he’s willing to cut a deal and betray his sister. With her position at the top looking ever more precarious, some clan members harbour thoughts of usurping her power. Sandra must assert herself quickly and absolutely in order to survive.
Launched in January, Walter Presents is Channel 4’s dedicated streaming service for foreign-language TV, bringing you exclusive shows from around the world on-demand and available for offline download for free. The service has already clocked up over 15 million streams in its first 9 months.
Mafiosa is one of the best to date – and the good news is that there’s still more to come. The show may have first premiered in France back in 2006, but it is one of the country’s most successful series, running for five seasons in total on Canal+. Season 2 and 3 have eight episodes each and will land on Walter Presents all-at-once, which means you’ll have 16 episodes of French gangster thrills to binge-watch – or 24, if you haven’t seen Season 1 yet.
Season 2 and 3 of Mafiosa arrive on Friday 4th November.
