Mafiosa is leading Walter Presents’ Spring 2016 line-up, with the whole of the first season available to watch now for free on All 4.
The French TV show, which first premiered on Canal+ back in 2006, was created by Hugues Pagan and has grown to become one of the country’s iconic thrillers of the small screen. It stars Hélène Fillières as Sandra Paoli, whose uncle is the head of a crime clan. After he’s murdered, the young lawyer finds herself deep in the underworld of the wild and enchanting island of Corsica.
“Think The Godfather meets Sex and the City,” says Walter Iuzzolino, the Chief Creative Officer of GSN (Channel 4’s partner for its VOD channel), and the personal curator of the site’s collection of foreign-language TV.
The show certainly proved a hit in its home country, with Canal+ renewing the show for five seasons in total, with the final run broadcast in 2014.
Delighted to announce that a new and exclusive box-set available FREE and on-demand on All4 will be released every two weeks this Spring, kicking off on Friday 1st April with gritty French mob thriller MAFIOSA.After her uncle is murdered, Sandra Paoli, a brilliant young lawyer is appointed head of the notorious Paoli clan - think The Godfather meets Sex and the City set on the wild and enchanting island of Corsica.

Mafiosa’s Season 1 box set marks the start of a new season of shows on Walter Presents for Spring 2016. With Thicker than Water and Blue Eyes occupying More4’s Thursday and Friday evening slots respectively – and episodes arriving on All 4 following their weekly airing – the French show is one of several to be added all-at-once, for those who prefer to binge-view their way through programmes.
Mafiosa is the first of four new shows coming soon to Walter Presents, with the exclusive box sets arriving every two weeks, starting with Season 2 of Kabul Kitchen (arriving on Friday 15th April) and followed by Tony’s Revenge, Penoza and The Invisibles.
Other shows in Walter Presents’ pipeline range from dark Belgian comedy Clan, which is expected to be debut weekly on More4, and Danish crime drama Dicte to Brazilian series Magnifica 70, Dutch thriller The Neighbours and Emmy-nominated miniseries The Prey.
