Legion Season 3 gets July UK air date

Legion Season 3 is heading to our screens this summer, with FOX confirming the show’s return date for UK TV audiences.
Created by Fargo’s Noah Hawley, the X-Men series stood out from the superhero pack when it premiered last year, thanks to its stylish visuals, committed cast and complex themes; unlike many comic book TV series, Legion focuses less on crossover mythology and powers and more on mental health issues.
It follows David Haller (Dan Stevens), a haunted man with power beyond comprehension. His power does not come free, but at the steep cost of David’s mind. Plagued by numerous split personalities – each commanding a different aspect of his power – David is trying to find his way back to sanity. But he’s getting tired and about to give up, until he meets the girl of his dreams (Rachel Keller).
“Stylistically ambitious and unpredictably strange, this X-Men spin-off series wastes little time in distinguishing itself from the pack,” we wrote in our review of the show’s first season. (You can also read our interview with co-star Rachel Keller here.)
Fans agreed, and FX announced that it had ordered a second season just before the Season 1 finale aired.
“The first season of Legion was a stunning achievement,” FX president of original programming Eric Schrier said in a statement. “More than a new series, Legion is a wholly original take on the superhero genre. Our thanks to Noah Hawley for taking the creative risks and shattering expectations. It’s a privilege to work again with Noah, his producing partners, the outstanding cast and our partners at Marvel Television on another season of Legion.”
Now, the show is returning for Season 3. In sees David build a following and create a commune for his acolytes who show him unconditional love. But to understand David Haller, one must understand his parentage, and we find out more about Charles Xavier and Gabrielle’s love story, which parallels that of David and Syd. Meanwhile, all of David’s former friends and allies team up with Amahl Farouk to stop him. But can Farouk be trusted?
