Kid Cosmic will return to Netflix this September – and a new trailer gives us a look at its second season.
The animated series follows the adventures of an imaginative and enthusiastic boy who lives with his free-spirited grandpa in a sparsely populated desert town. His dreams of being a hero seem to come true when he discovers 5 Cosmic Stones of Power in a wrecked spaceship. But when they send a signal out containing the whereabouts of the most powerful and desirable artefacts in the cosmos, the Earth becomes ground zero for an epic battle for ultimate power. To stop the alien onslaught, the kid gives the powerful rings to local heroes who become the good guys… even though they’re bad at it.
“This silly, smart superhero comedy is a charming family tale of teamwork,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
The series was ordered by Netflix in 2018 and hails from Craig McCracken (The Powerpuff Girls, Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends). After premiering in February this year, Netflix has now announced that it will be back on our screens in September. In Season 2, Jo learns what it means to be a true leader as the Local Heroes embark on a space adventure to find the remaining Stones of Power and save the galaxy. Also joining the show is Bobby Moynihan as new villain Fantas the Amassor.
Find out what happens when it premieres on 7th September.
