Netflix and A+E Networks have renewed documentary series I Am a Killer for a second season.
Znak & Co’s true crime series is a co-production between the two companies, premiering on A+E’s Crime+Investigation in the UK last year before arriving on Netflix earlier this month.
The 10-part show delves into the world of America’s death row, divulging the stories of prisoners who are lined up behind US bars, awaiting their fate. It features interviews with some of the longest serving inmates, covering their treatment and experience of the American justice system, and also explores the impact of their crimes upon their victims and the victims’ communities and families.
“A poignant study of guilt, justice and punishment,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Now, just a week after the programme landed on Netflix UK, it has been picked up for another 10-episode run. Season 2 will expand the show to also feature female inmates and explore themes of repentance and redemption, reports Deadline.
