Bravery. Integrity. Superpowers. These are all things that The Neighbor has – if only he could do something useful with them.
Netflix’s superhero comedy from director Nacho Vigalondo follows thirty-something Javier, who struggles to handle adulthood and his girlfriend. One day, an alien lands on him and transfer his powers to him before dying. But even after Javier has become a superhero, he’s not any better at life. Now he’s back for a second outing, but make no mistake: if you need saving, don’t call him.
See him back in action on 21st May. Here’s the trailer:

First look: Nacho Vigalondo directs The Neighbor for Netflix
20th March 2019
Nacho Vigalondo is headed to Netflix to direct The Neiighbor, a new superhero comedy, and we’ve got our first look at what to expect from the series.
The Neighbor stars Quim Gutiérrez, who can be seen in the striking super suit above (via Todo TV News). Based on the comic El Vecino by Santiago García and Pepo Pérez, The Neighbor tells the story of Javier (Gutiérrez), who’s life is not going too well. He can barely make ends meet with a temporary job, his t-shirt business with discouraging quotes doesn’t quite take off and his relationship with Lola (Clara Lago) has been having problems for the last couple of months. The last thing he needed is for an alien to land on him and transfer his powers before dying. Now Javier has become a superhero, but he’s not doing any better.
Catalina Sopelana and Adrián Pino complete the cast of the comedy, which is exec-produced by Carlos de Pando, Sara Antuña, Nahikari Ipiña and Eneko Gutiérrez. The series is written by Miguel Esteban and Raúl Navarro and produced by Zeta Audiovisual for Netflix.
Production is now underway in Madrid.
