First look at Netflix psychological thriller Clinical

Netflix may be best known for its budget original series, but one of the streaming giant’s other signature traits is investing in indie films, from festival acquisitions, such as The Casting of JonBenet, to original productions.
The latter has brought the streaming service mixed results, from slow-paced horror I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House to cracking sci-fi ARQ.
Next up? Psychological thriller Clinical. The film is directed by Alistair Legrand, who co-wrote the script with Luke Harvis – the duo behind Ali Larter horror flick The Diabolical.
Clinical stars Vinessa Shaw as Dr. Jane Mathis, a psychiatrist trying to put her life back together after a violent attack but finds she can’t escape her past. A horrifying encounter with a disturbed young patient continues to haunt her, causing her to question her own sanity, as her visions of the past become increasingly more visceral.
The film is released on Netflix worldwide on Friday 13th January. For more on what’s coming soon to the streaming service this month, click here – or read on for the trailer:
