Donald Glover rumoured to return as Lando in Disney+ series

Donald Glover is rumoured to be returning to the Star Wars universe in a new Disney+ series featuring Lando Calrissian.
The Atlanta star, who goes by Childish Gambino in his equally successful music career, was described as playing Lando with “scene-stealing suave” in our review when he appeared as the much-loved character during big screen prequel Solo: A Star Wars Story. Since the film, there has been talk of possible follow-up films, but Lucasfilm is currently focused on small-screen Star Wars instead – including a spin-off from similar Star Wars prequel Rogue One, featuring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor.
Now, Glover’s Lando may be set for a similar outing on Disney+, as the streaming service continues to forge ahead with its own original Star Wars adventures – a new animated series, The Bad Batch, was announced earlier this month, following the success of both The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian.
The news, of course, should be taken with a Kessel Run-sized pinch of salt, as Glover is far from out of work and may not have time for a sizeable commitment, but the rumour does come from a mildly reliable source; the podcast Kessel Run Transmissions floated the rumour this week, and recently broke the news about The Bad Batch before Disney officially announced that project. You can see their report about it here.
