Disney+ is now available on NOW devices.
The House of Mouse’s subscription service took its time to arrive in the UK but has wasted no time in making it clear it means business, with a low price point – £5.99 a month, or £59.99 a year – and a hefty back catalogue to balance out its short supply of Disney+ originals. As well as Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, that includes Seasons 1 to 30 of The Simpsons, with more than 600 episodes available.
The latter came about after a last-minute deal with Sky, and that deal has proven a crucial weapon for Disney, with the platform available as an app on Sky Q boxes. Now, it’s also joined Sky’s contract-free cousin, NOW.
Speaking about the update, Marina Storti, Managing Director, NOW, said: “With the arrival of the Disney+ app, customers can now enjoy Disney’s new streaming service alongside NOW’s slate of Sky originals, award winning box sets, blockbuster movies and favourite Kids shows. This new addition broadens the range of content available on our NOW devices and helps to further simplify the struggle of navigating multiple TV inputs to find what you want to watch.”
NOW device customers can now download the app from the App Store and sign into their Disney+ account to start watching.
Disney+ will not, however, be part of NOW’s streaming service, which has expanded in recent years to include a Hayu subscription as an optional add-on within the streaming service’s interface. NOW device owners will need to purchase a Disney+ device owners directly through Disney then sign into their account through the app on their NOW box or stick.
