It’s only a matter of weeks until we return to the fairy tale world of Andalusia – or, more accurately, until Andalusia crashes back into our world – and a new trailer gives us a final, closer look at Disenchanted.
The sequel to Disney’s hit Enchanted catches us up with Giselle (Amy Adams), the princess who was banished to Manhattan but found her real Prince Charming in divorce lawyer Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey). 15 years later, Giselle and Robert live with their teenage daughter, Morgan, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city, so they move to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for. Suburbia has a whole new set of rules and a local queen bee, Malvina Monroe, who makes Giselle feel more out of place than ever.
Frustrated that her happily ever after hasn’t been so easy to find, she turns to the magic of Andalasia for help, accidentally transforming the entire town into a real-life fairy tale and placing her family’s future happiness in jeopardy. Now, Giselle is in a race against time to reverse the spell and determine what happily ever after truly means to her and her family.
James Marsden will also return as the dashing but daft Prince Edward, along with Idina Menzel (Frozen) as Nancy Tremaine. Joining them will be Jayma Mays (Glee) as Ruby, Oscar Nunez (The Office) as Edgar and newcomer Gabriella Baldacchino as Morgan, plus Maya Rudolph as Malvina.
You can see them all in action on 18th November, when the film premieres on Disney+. Here’s the trailer:

First look: Amy Adams, Maya Rudolph in Disenchanted
18th May 2022
Disney has dropped the first image online from Disenchanted, the long-awaited sequel to Enchanted – and it’s clear that Giselle’s happy ever after isn’t going to plan.
The film catches us up with the princess from the fairy tale world of Andalasia, who was banished to Manhattan but found her real Princess Charming in divorce lawyer Robert Philip. 15 years later, Giselle moves to the suburb of Monroeville with Robert and their teenage daughter, Morgan, where she must juggle the challenges that come with a new home and discover what happily ever after truly means to her and her new family.
The film, directed by Adam Shankman (Hairspray, The Wedding Planner), stars
Joining Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey as the lead couple will be James Marsden as the dashing but daft Prince Edward from Andalasia, Idina Menzel (Frozen) as Nancy Tremaine, the former dress maker now married to Prince Edward, Jayma Mays (Glee) as Ruby, Oscar Nunez (The Office) as Edgar and newcomer Gabriella Baldacchino as Morgan. Star sequel billing, though, goes to Maya Rudolph, who joins the cast as Malvina, Giselle’s new adversary – and their rivalry is front and centre of the first teaser image.
It won’t all be frowns and glares, though, with new songs from Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, whose work on Enchanted garnered three Oscar nominations, and Adam Shankman (Hairspray, The Wedding Planner) at the helm.
The film will debut on Disney+ UK in November.

Disenchanted: Maya Rudolph joins cast for Disney+ Enchanted sequel
29th April 2021
Maya Rudolph is leading a trio of new casting additions to Disney’s Enchanted sequel.
Called Disenchanted, the Disney+ film will see Amy Adams returns as Giselle, who found her life flipped upside down when she fell out of her animated fantasy world and discovered herself stuck in real-life Manhattan.
Adams will be joined by Idina Menzel and James Marsden, who are also reprising their roles from the first film as Nancy and Prince Edward, with composer Alan Menken also returning.
Now, they’ve got some company, with Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma Mays all boarding the project. Deadline reports that Rudolph will play a villain in the sequel, with Brown and Mays also potentially stepping into evil shoes.
Rudolph is no stranger to Disney, having lent her vocals to Pixar’s upcoming Disney+ release Luca. Brown is best known as Shirley Bennett from Community, but has also starred in Disney+ series Big Shot and Disney+ live-action remake Lady and the Tramp. Mays plays Emma Pillsbury in Glee and has recently appeared in Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Adam Shankman will direct the sequel, with Adams producing alongside Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld. Brigitte Hales is on script duties.
