DC FanDome: The schedule, how to watch, how it works
James R | On 12, Sep 2020
DC is venturing back into the world of digital conventions with its second DC FanDome event.
This summer, with events cancelled or taken online due to the coronavirus pandemic, DC has been one of the bolder experimenters out there, creating its own virtual platform to bring fans together – instead of using something like Eventive or Shift72, which have been popular choices for film festivals, or YouTube, which Comic-Con At Home relied upon – and then hosting a 24-our mix of panels, previews and more.
After August’s “Hall of Heroes” event, this weekend sees DC host the second part of its showcase, titled “Explore the Multiverse”. The day-long convention marks another experiment for the comics giant, swapping out Hall of Heroes’ scheduled, live-streamed line-up for an on-demand line-up of content.
Rather than previews and teases about upcoming movies, the event has a focus on behind-the-scenes and making-of insights, as well as a showcase for DC’s small-screen outings, particularly what has become known as the Arrowverse – DC’s hub for all of its shows across multiple universes. The content is all available in nine languages: Brazilian Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
Of particular note are panels for Batwoman, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, Doom Patrol and Stargirl. The videos are split into multiple categories: Watchverse (home of the major panels), Insiderverse (the main hub of behind-the-scenes content) and YouVerse (featuring cosplay and more).
The 100+ hours of content are available on-demand in your own chosen order from 6pm on Saturday 12th September to 6pm on Sunday 13th September. You can also catch up with any of the content from Hall of Heroes – read on below for the line-up from that event. You can stream the whole thing at dcfandome.com.

DC FanDome: DC to host online preview event
8th August 2020
If you wondered why DC Comics weren’t present at San Diego’s Comic-Con At Home this summer, the answer has arrived this weekend with the announcement of a new DC-online online event: DC FanDome.
The 24-hour digital showcase will take place on 22nd August and present fans with a host of panels, news, teases and more for DC comics, movies, TV shows and video games. What exactly is going to be shown or announces isn’t clear, but DC has released a list of names that will be digitally present in some form, which gives us an idea.
Director Matt Reeves has confirmed via Twitter that he’ll be there to share something from The Batman, with Robert Pattinson also notably down on the list of (virtual) attendees. James Gunn will also be taking part along with several Suicide Squad cast members, such as Margot Robbie, Viola Davis and Idris Elba, which suggests that there’ll be an update on that project too. Ezra Miller and Andy Muschietti are also listed as remote guests, which indicates some kind of reveal surrounding the upcoming movie The Flash. You’ll also spot the Wonder Woman 1984 talent (including Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot), the Shazam! team are on the list (Zachary Levi, David F. Sandberg) and, of course, there’s Zack Snyder, who will drop new details about the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
The event will be open to fans worldwide for free, which will come as some good news for DC lovers in the US, after its streaming service DC Universe has proven to be US-only thus far, and with no confirmation yet on where the HBO Max Snyder Cut will be broadcast on British screens.
Incredibly excited to see everyone at #DCFanDome on August 22nd — can't wait to share more about #TheBatman with you… pic.twitter.com/WxWat6gyrv
