The start of a new year will also be a farewell for an old Netflix show, as The Ranch prepares to return for its final episodes.
The US sitcom, which follows the Bennett family ranch, stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a washed up high-school football star who has returned home to his father’s ranch after years away. He is joined by an ensemble that includes Sam Elliott as father Beau, Debra Winger as mother Maggie and Elisha Cuthbert as Colt’s girlfriend, Abby.
Not returning, though, is Danny Masterson, who was removed from the show several seasons ago following multiple accusations of rape. Soon after, Netflix confirmed that the series would end after Part 8, with 10 episodes airing earlier this year. The final 10 will premiere all at once on 24th January.
“It’s the holiday season and we’re in a giving mood”, Netflix tweeted, announcing the release date. “Here’s an early present for y’all — 10 final episodes of #TheRanch are coming January 24, only on @Netflix.”
The Ranch: Part 8 is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.

The Ranch returns for its penultimate run this September, as the Netflix series nears its final ever episodes.
The US sitcom, which follows the Bennett family ranch, stars Kutcher as Colt, a washed up high-school football star who has returned home to his father’s ranch after years away. Season 3 premiered its second half (Part 5) at the end of last year, marking a major step forward for the programme, as it ushered in a new character: Dax Shepard as Luke Matthews, a former soldier who came to Garrison with some history concerning the Iron River Ranch.
Dax’s casting was to replace the departed Danny Masterson, who was removed from the show following multiple accusations of rape. He joins an ensemble that includes Sam Elliott as father Beau, Debra Winger as mother Maggie and Elisha Cuthbert as Colt’s girlfriend, Abby.
Part 7 will comprise 10 more episodes, with another 10 (Part 8) to follow and close out the sitcom. The penultimate batch premieres on 13th September. Here’s the trailer:

After that, though, it will be farewell to The Ranch.
“The Ranch is coming to an end, but not just yet. We’re excited to bring you the final 20 episodes — 10 streaming later this year (2019) on Netflix, and then 10 more in 2020. Stay tuned!” tweeted Kutcher.

7th December 2018
Netflix is making a new start this December with The Ranch, which returns for Part 6 just in time for Christmas.
The US sitcom, which follows the Bennett family ranch, stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a washed up high-school football star who has returned home to his father’s ranch after years away. Season 3 premiered its first half (Part 5) earlier this year, but Part 6 is a major step forward for the programme, as it ushers in a new character: Dax Shepard as Luke Matthews, a former soldier who has come to Garrison with some history concerning the Iron River Ranch. He meets the Bennetts and forms an immediate bond with Colt, although his past has a way of catching up with him.

New trailer for The Ranch reveals the show’s future without Danny Masterson
6th June 2018
A new trailer for The Ranch Part 5 has been unveiled by Netflix, and it gives us a look at the show’s future without Danny Masterson.
Dax Shepard will join the cast of Netflix’s The Ranch for its upcoming season.
The US sitcom, which follows the Bennett family ranch, stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a washed up high-school football star who has returned home to his father after years away. As its third season arrived last year, though, the series became mired in scandal, as co-star Masterson faced accusations for assaulting several women in the early 2000s. Netflix removed Masterson from the show, drafting in a new actor – Dax Shepard – to replace him.
Shepard will play Luke Matthews, a former soldier who has come to Garrison with some history concerning the Iron River Ranch. He meets the Bennetts and forms an immediate bond with Colt, but his past has a way of catching up with him.
Masterson will reportedly appear in a very small number of episodes this season, as he is written out – indeed, the new trailer doesn’t feature the actor at all, instead focusing on the overall Bennett family, as they face everything from white trash weddings to felony charges. Part 5 premieres on Friday 15th June. Here’s the new video:
Dax Shepard joins Netflix’s The Ranch
16th March 2018
Dax Shepard will join the cast of Netflix’s The Ranch for its upcoming season.
The US sitcom, which follows the Bennett family ranch, stars Ashton Kutcher as Colt, a washed up high-school football star who has returned home to his father after years away. As its third season arrived last year, though, the series became mired in scandal, as Kutcher’s former co-star, Danny Masterson, faced accusations for allegedly assaulting several women in the early 2000s. With Masterson denying the accusations, Netflix came under fire for not cutting ties with the actor, as the company previously had with House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey, amid his own allegations of assault.
Netflix has since removed Masterson from the show, confirming that production would go ahead on the series’ next season. Now, it’s drafting in a new guest star to join Kutcher.
Shepard is experienced on both sides of the camera, with TV roles including Crosby Braverman on the hit NBC series Parenthood, for which he received a 2015 People’s Choice Award nomination, and NBC’s About a Boy, and his feature directorial work including CHIPS, Hit and Run, and Brother’s Justice (the latter two co-directed with David Palmer). He has also acted in movies such as Without a Paddle, Idiocracy, Employee of the Month, Baby Mama, The Judge and This Is Where I Leave You.
In The Ranch, he will play Luke Matthews, a former soldier who has come to Garrison with some history concerning the Iron River Ranch. He meets the Bennetts and forms an immediate bond with Colt and Beau, but Luke’s past has a way of catching up with him.
