Constellations online again after Olivier win
David Farnor | On 01, May 2022
The Donmar Warehouse is streaming its recordings of Constellations online once again, to celebrate its double Oliver Award win for both Best Revival and Sheila Atim won Best Actress.
Nick Payne’s play follows a quantum physicist and a beekeeper who meet at a barbeque. They hit it off, or perhaps they don’t. They go home together, or maybe they go their separate ways. In the multiverse, with every possible future ahead of them, a love of honey could make all the difference.
The two-hander production was staged with four casts – Sheila Atim & Ivanno Jeremiah, Peter Capaldi & Zoë Wanamaker, Omari Douglas & Russell Tovey, and Anna Maxwell Martin & Chris O’Dowd. All four versions of the play are available on-demand until 25th May 2022. A ticket costs £7.50 for a 24-hour rental, or £20 to watch all four over a 14-day window.
Donmar Warehouse releases Constellations online
21st September 2021
The Donmar Warehouse will stream its revival of the play Constellations online this October.
Nick Payne’s play follows a quantum physicist and a beekeeper who meet at a barbeque. They hit it off, or perhaps they don’t. They go home together, or maybe they go their separate ways. In the multiverse, with every possible future ahead of them, a love of honey could make all the difference.
Michael Longhurst directs this revival of the play, with design by Tom Scutt, lighting design by Lee Curran, sound design by David McSeveney and music by Simon Slater. What makes this incarnation particularly intriguing is that four different versions were staged in an alternating cycle, each one starring a different pair – Sheila Atim & Ivanno Jeremiah, Peter Capaldi & Zoë Wanamaker, Omari Douglas & Russell Tovey, and Anna Maxwell Martin & Chris O’Dowd.
Due to popular demand, breaking box office records at the Vaudeville theatre in London, all four casts of Constellations will be available to watch online in October 2021. Each production will cost £15 to rent and households will be able to watch the show for 24 hours after purchase – or they can buy all 4 for £40, with an extended viewing window to watch them.
Captioned and audio described versions of each film will be available, in partnership with VocalEyes and Stagetext. The Constellations films will also be available for schools to access for free.
