“When you define food with ethnic terms its sets communities against each other,” says Musa Dağdeviren in the new trailer for Chef’s Table Season 5.
Netflix’s Emmy-nominated cooking series is a unique dish in a crowded TV restaurant, combining human interest and jaw-dropping visuals to take us behind the kitchen counter to profile the world’s top cooks, examining who they are, why they cook and what it is that makes their award-winning dishes so unique. We’ve repeatedly ranked it among the streaming service’s most mouth-watering originals, with a run of seasons that have ranged from globe-trotting gastronomy to more recently a season focused solely on France and another devoted entirely to pastry chefs.
Season 5 is perhaps its most international yet, focusing on Cristina Martinez (Mexico & USA), Albert Adria (Spain), Musa Dağdeviren (Turkey) and
Bo Songvisava (Thailand). And with that diversity comes food for thought, as the show also considers the role of food within culture and society.
Season 5 premieres on Friday 28th September. Here’s the mouth-watering trailer:
