BFI Player is officially coming to Apple TV.
The streaming service, which launched back in 2014, offers films to rent online as well as a subscription service, formerly known as BFI Player+, which includes a range of landmark classic and cult films curated by the team at the BFI. Costing £4.99 per month, it’s a subscription service that includes everything from Fellini’s 8 1/2 and Paris, Texas to The Hunt. Past London Film Festival favourites available as part of the subscription includes Dogtooth (Yorgos Lanthimos), Arcadia (Paul Wright), Goldstone (Ivan Sen), The Arbor (Clio Barnard) and Evolution (Lucile Hadzihalilovic).
Edward Humphrey, Director of Digital at the BFI, said: “BFI Player is already the best
place to discover critically-acclaimed films from across the decades. We’re delighted to
offer BFI Player through Apple TV channels on the Apple TV app and make it even easier
to watch our iconic catalogue of films on-demand.”
The Apple TV app is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and select Samsung smart TVs, and will come to Mac this autumn. Customers can subscribe to BFI Player directly on the Apple TV app using their Apple ID and password. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share subscriptions to Apple TV channels. A seven-day free trial is available for new customers.
