Disney+ is taking us Behind the Attraction this summer, with a docuseries exploring the true stories behind its theme park rides.
The 10-part series is designed to tie in with the release of the feature film Jungle Cruise on 30th July, which is inspired by the Disney Parks attraction of the same name that debuted in 1955. Narrated by Paget Brewster, the gives viewers a peek behind the curtain of the most beloved attractions and destinations at Disney Parks and Resorts around the world, from Jungle Cruise to It’s a Small World and the Haunted Mansion to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Using archival and never-before-seen footage and photographs, the series will chronicle how Disney Imagineers designed and built them as well as the intricacies of the transportation systems at each park and how the Disneyland Hotel came to be.
Including rare interviews with Walt Disney, each episode also features exclusive interviews with Disney Legends and dozens of past and present Imagineers, including Bob Weis, Jeanette Lomboy, Kim Irvine, Scott Trowbridge, Tom Fitzgerald, Scot Drake, Carmen Smith, Joe Rohde and others.
The series is executive produced by Dwayne Johnson (Jungle Cruise) and Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner and directed by Brian Volk-Weiss (The Toys That Made Us) from The Nacelle Companym.
The episodes include Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, The Castles, Disneyland Hotel, Space Mountain, It’s a Small World, Trains, Trams, and Monorails, and Hall of Presidents.
