“What you all did was one of the most painful moments in the history of this company…” That’s the sound of Apple TV+ booting up Severance for a second season – and a new trailer gives us a closer look at the show’s return.
Hailing from director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator, writer and executive producer Dan Erickson, the darkly comic thriller introduces us to Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark Scout (Adam Scott), who leads a team at the company, finds himself at the centre of an unravelling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself.
Scott co-stars alongside Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette.
“This dark, dystopian workplace thriller is a disturbingly timely watch,” we wrote in our wrote in our review of Season 1.
In Season 2, Mark and his friends learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe. You can find out what the path holds in store on Friday 17th January, when the first episode of Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+ – followed by one episode weekly until the finale on Friday 21st March.
