Amazon launches Prime Live Events

Amazon is entering the music arena with a new series of concerts, dubbed Prime Live Events.
The gigs, which take place in London, are available exclusively to Amazon Prime customers, joining a long line of benefits to the next-day delivery scheme, as Amazon finds new ways to incentivise its membership scheme. The live entertainment programme gives fans the opportunity to see their favourite artists perform up close and personal in iconic locations. Venues have been carefully selected to create a unique and intimate experience for fans and artists alike.
For those who can’t get tickets, Amazon is also recording the events and releasing them exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Two pilot episodes are now available to stream: Robbie Williams Live at St. John’s Hackney and John Legend Live at Round Chapel.
Williams’ gig saw the multi-platinum singer perform songs from his new album The Heavy Entertainment Show, as well as classic songs. John Legend, meanwhile, brought a little Darkness and Light to The Round Chapel, celebrating the release of his new album of the same name. Future concerts include Blondie, Alison Moyet, Texas and Katie Melua.
