Amazon is unleashing its new original series The Wilds this December.
The 10-episode drama is part survival thriller, part dystopian slumber party. It follows a group of teen girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways both clash and bond as they learn more about each other, the secrets they keep, and the traumas they’ve all endured. There’s just one twist: these girls did not end up on this island by accident.
The series stars Rachel Griffiths, as well as a mix of familiar and fresh faces, including Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, and Troy Winbush.
The series is co-produced by Amazon Studios and ABC Signature and is created by Sarah Streicher (Daredevil), who serves as executive producer alongside Amy B. Harris (Sex and the City and The Carrie Diaries), Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings), and Dylan Clark (The Batman and Bird Box).
The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video 11th December, with the first episode available to stream for free without an Amazon Prime subscription from 11th to 25th December. It will also be available for a limited time on Amazon Prime Video’s YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts from 8am on 11th December.

Amazon announces cast for The Wilds
30th November 2019
Amazon has found its cast for new young adult series The Wilds.
Part survival drama, part dystopic slumber party, The Wilds follows a group of teenage girls from radically different backgrounds after an airplane crash leaves them stranded on a deserted island.
It is created and executive produced by Sarah Streicher alongside showrunner Amy Harris, Jamie Tarses of Fanfare, and Dylan Clark and Brian Williams for Dylan Clark Productions. Susanna Fogel directed and served as executive producer for the pilot.
In front of the camera, Rachel Griffiths (Take Control) will play Gretchen Klein, an ambitious intellectual who runs an all-girls empowerment retreat. She is joined by: David Sullivan (Goliath, The Son) as Dr. Daniel Faber, an FBI trauma specialist. He’s a pro at putting his interviewees at ease and extracting valuable information from them; Troy Winbush (The Goldbergs) as FBI Agent Dean Young, a stoic and authoritative—though not unkind—professional ans a seasoned investigator; Sophia Ali (Grey’s Anatomy) as Fatin Jadmani, a proudly promiscuous girl with an audacious fashion sense and a hidden past; Sarah Pidgeon (Gotham) as Leah Rilke, a mature, creative loner with an overactive mind; Jenna Clause as Martha Blackburn, a timid animal lover with a big heart and shaky self-esteem; and Erana James (Golden Boy) as Toni Shalifoe, a tomboy with anger issues and the best friend of Martha.
