Jeffrey Wright will star in All Day and a Night, a new Netflix film from Joe Robert Cole.
The co-writer of Black Panther is doubling down on his relationship with the streaming giant. As well as teaming up with Michael B Jordan for Failsafe, based on the Vault Comics title, he’s also got his own movie in the works, and has assembled cast to be in it.
The film uses three parallel narratives to follow a young criminal after his arrival in prison, as he looks back on the days preceding his arrest and the circumstances of his childhood to find clues to his way forward in life and his survival.
Ashton Sanders (Moonlight, Equalizer 2, and the upcoming Native Son), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Hold the Dark, The Hunger Games series), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, The Get Down), Regina Taylor (Saturday Church, The Unit, Courage Under Fire), Kelly Jenrette (The Handmaid’s Tale), Isaiah John (Snowfall),Shakira Ja-nai Paye (We’re Not Friends), and Andrea Lynn Ellsworth (Shameless) will star in the project.
It is produced by Color Force’s Nina Jacobson (American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson and The Assassination of Gianni Versace, The Hunger Games), Brad Simpson (American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson and The Assassination of Gianni Versace, World War Z), and Jared Ian Goldman (Marvel’s The Punisher, Alex Strangelove, Ingrid Goes West), with Jonathan Montepare on board as Executive Producer.
