How do I get Paramount+ UK for free?

This week sees the launch of Paramount+ in the UK, bringing with it a host of Paramount exclusives and originals, as well as a back catalogue of Showtime series, such as Dexter, Billions and Yellowjackets, plus Paramount movies, including Mission: Impossible – Fallout and the Star Trek franchise.
The platform costs £6.99 per month or £69.90 per year in the UK, and is available online at paramountplus.com and as a standalone app on iOS and Android devices, plus across a range of connected TVs as well as Google, Roku and Samsung devices. You can also get it as an add-on service as part of Amazon Prime Video Channels.
But with a growing number of subscription services all competing for your monthly fees, the question we get asked a lot is what kind of offers or discounts are available – is there a way to get Paramount+ UK for free?
The good news is that a seven-day free trial is available for all new customers.
The bad news? You’ll otherwise need Sky in order to get the service for free.
Paramount+ is available as an app within Sky’s platform, with a separate add-on subscription required to access it – unless, that is, you’re a Sky Cinema subscriber. Sky Cinema customers get the bonus of Paramount+ included at no extra cost.
Sky Cinema typically costs £11 a month as an upgrade to your Sky account, so taking into account Paramount+’s £6.99 price tag, you’re essentially getting the Sky Cinema catalogue at a discounted rate of £5.
All other Sky customers – and all NOW customers – will have to subscribe to Paramount+ as a paid service separate to their account.
However, Sky’s partnership with Paramount does mean that the studio’s feature films won’t be departing Sky Cinema to become Paramount+ exclusives any time soon – so if you’re a NOW Sky Cinema subscriber, you’ll at least still be able to watch Paramount films for the forseeable.
