Uma Thurman and Adam Scott lead the star-studded line-up on Apple TV+ this February, as its 2022 slate begins to build momentum – there’s also a new film from Josephine Decker and weekly episodes of Servant and The Afterparty.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in February 2022:
Suspicion: Season 1 – 4th February
This eight-part political thriller begins with the son of a prominent American businesswoman (Uma Thurman) being kidnapped from a New York hotel. The eye of suspicion quickly falls on four seemingly ordinary British citizens who were at the hotel on the night in question. As they find themselves in a trans-Atlantic cat and mouse race to evade the combined forces of the National Crime Agency and the FBI to prove their innocence, it becomes apparent that not everyone can be trusted. Who is really behind the mysterious abduction, and who is only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, with episodes then arriving weekly.
The Sky Is Everywhere – 11th February
Josephine Decker directs this adaptation of the beloved novel of the same name. Tucked among the magical redwood trees of Northern California and surrounded by her grandmother’s gargantuan roses, 17-year-old Lennie Walker, a radiant musical prodigy, struggles with overwhelming grief following the sudden loss of her older sister, Bailey. When Joe Fontaine, the charismatic new guy at school, enters Lennie’s life, she’s drawn to him. But Lennie’s complicated relationship with her sister’s devastated boyfriend, Toby, starts to affect Lennie and Joe’s budding love. Through her vivid imagination and honest, conflicted heart, Lennie navigates first love and first loss to create a song of her own.
Severance: Season 1 – 18th February
Adam Scott stars in this workplace thriller as Mark Scout, who leads a team at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone a procedure that surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This experiment in work-life balance is called into question as Mark finds himself at the centre of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work – and of himself. The series is written and created by Dan Erickson, with Scott serving as an exec-producer alongside co-stars Patricia Arquette. The cast also includes John Turturro (The Plot Against America) and Christopher Walken. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together, with episodes then arriving weekly.
Lincoln’s Dilemma: Season 1 – 18th February
Narrated by Jeffrey Wright and featuring the voices of Bill Camp as Abraham Lincoln and Leslie Odom Jr as Frederick Douglass, this documentary series is a 21st-century examination of a complicated man and the people and events that shaped his evolving stance on slavery.
