Amazon is stepping up its plans for the new year with a double-whammy of high-profile original series: the debut of Jack Reacher’s small screen outing and the return of Mrs Maisel. They’re joined by a rom-com in time for Valentine’s Day and the whole of The Fast and the Furious franchise.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in February 2022:

The Fast and the Furious – 1st February

The cars, the family, the movies. Go back to the beginning of the franchise with the whole lot racing on to Amazon Prime Video.

Reacher: Season 1 – 4th February

Based on the novel Killing Floor by Lee Child, the series stars Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served. When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: they picked the wrong guy to take the fall. Episodes arrive weekly.

Phat Tuesdays: Season 1 – 4th January

This documentary series celebrates the untold story of Black comedians at The Comedy Store in 90s Los Angeles. It features some of today’s most famous comedians and personalities, including Anthony Anderson, Tichina Arnold, Nick Cannon, Dave Chappelle, Snoop Dogg, Cedric the Entertainer, Tiffany Haddish, Steve Harvey and more.

Rooney – 11th February

The Amazon original documentary promises unprecedented access to the footballer, as Wayne himself recounts stories from some of the most important moments of his life, with testimonies from the people closest to him, including family, friends and his wife, Coleen.

I Want You Back – 11th February

Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) are total strangers, but when they meet, one thing instantly bonds them: they were both unexpectedly dumped by their respective partners on the same weekend. As the saying goes, “misery loves company”, but their commiseration turns into a mission when they see on social media that their exes have happily moved on to new romances, Anne with Logan (Manny Jacinto) and Noah with Ginny (Clark Backo).

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel: Season 4 – 18th February

Season 4 of Amazon’s delightful comedy about stand-up comic Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) takes us to 1960 and change is in the air. Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft — and the places it takes her — creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her. The edgy, uncompromising, and hilarious new season includes guest appearances from Kelly Bishop, Milo Ventimiglia, John Waters and Jason Alexander.

LOL: Last One Laughing Canada: Season 1 – 18th February

Amazon’s reality TV comedy contest returns, as Canadian comics attempt to make each other laugh – the last one to crack a smile wins.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story – 19th February

An average guy enters a Dodgeball championship with a band of misfit friends in order to win enough money to pay his debts and save his neighborhood gym from being taken over by an evil corporate gym owner in this laugh-out-loud comedy.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – 21st February

Garth Jennings’ big screen adaptation of Douglas Adams’ world hits the tone bang on the head.
