Apple TV+ is now more than a year old and the tech giant’s subscription streaming platform is still going strong, with a steady stream of new originals arriving this month. In December, that not only means family series Stillwater and nature documentary Earth at Night in Color, but also a Christmas special from Mariah Carey and the exclusive release of a classic festive treat, A Charlie Brown Christmas. But most promising of all is the debut of Cartoon Saloon’s latest, Wolfwalkers.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Apple TV+ in December 2020:

A Charlie Brown Christmas – 4th December

Short, sweet and with a dash of melancholy, this is utterly charming stuff – made even more so by Vince Guaraldi’s jazzy soundtrack. It joins recent festive specials A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Available for free in the Apple TV app from 11th to 13th December

Stillwater – 4th December

Siblings Karl, Addy and Michael have a very special next-door neighbor: a wise panda named Stillwater. His friendship and stories give them new perspectives on the world, themselves, and each other.

Earth at Night in Color: Season 1 – 4th December

Narrated by Tom Hiddleston and filmed across six continents, this docuseries uses cutting-edge camera technology to capture animals’ nocturnal lives, revealing new behaviors filmed in full color like never before.

Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special – 4th December

Faced with a holiday cheer crisis, the North Pole knows there’s only one person who can save the day: Santa’s great friend Mariah Carey. The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, creates a star-studded spectacular, featuring Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland and Mykal-Michelle Harris – plus Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.

Wolfwalkers – 11th December

In a time of superstition and magic, a young apprentice hunter, Robyn Goodfellowe, journeys to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last wolf pack. While exploring the forbidden lands outside the city walls, Robyn befriends a free-spirited girl, Mebh, a member of a mysterious tribe rumored to have the ability to transform into wolves by night. As they search for Mebh’s missing mother, Robyn uncovers a secret that draws her further into the enchanted world of the Wolfwalkers and risks turning into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy. This magical masterpiece from Cartoon Saloon is well worth checking out.
