With The Walking Dead’s Season 10 finale on the horizon, Amazon is getting in the zombie spirit too with the debut of spin-off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond. That horror mood continues later in the month with the debut of four new original films co-produced with Blumhouse – not to mention, just in time for Halloween, spooky comedy series Truth Seekers from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

Eddie the Eagle – 1st October
Dexter Fletcher’s film about the real life British skier who became an unlikely sporting legend is irresistibly feel-good stuff.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond – 2nd October
Following the success of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, the new series is co-created by Scott M. Gimple, with Matt Negrete on board as co-creator and showrunner. The series will star Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston and Nico Tortorella. It will focus on the first generation raised in the zombie apocalypse. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Episodes will arrive weekly following their US debut.
Inglourious Basterds – 2nd October
Tarantino’s stylish, striking revision of world history is impressive but uneven.
I Feel Pretty – 2nd October
Amy Schumer (Trainwreck) stars in this hilarious comedy as an insecure woman who wakes from a fall believing she is suddenly the most beautiful and capable woman on the planet. Her new confidence empowers her to live fearlessly, but what happens when she realizes her appearance never changed?
Black Box – 6th October
Directed by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr, and written by Osei-Kuffour Jr. and Stephen Herman, the film follows a single father who, after losing his wife and his memory in a car accident, undergoes an agonising experimental treatment that causes him to question who he really is.
The Lie – 6th October
Written and Directed by Veena Sud, it follows two desperate parents who, when their teenaged daughter confesses to impulsively killing her best friend, attempt to cover up the horrific crime, leading them into a complicated web of lies and deception.
Fleabag: Season 2 – 8th October
Because who doesn’t want an excuse to catch up with Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s dry-witted, angry, cash-strapped, grief-riddled, porn-watching eponymous young woman once again?
Evil Eye – 13th October
Directed by Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani, and written by Madhuri Shekar, the film charts a seemingly perfect romance that turns into a nightmare when a mother becomes convinced her daughter’s new boyfriend has a dark connection to her own past.
Nocturne – 13th October
Written and Directed by Zu Quirke it whisks us away to the halls of an elite arts academy, where a timid music student begins to outshine her more accomplished and outgoing twin sister when she discovers a mysterious notebook belonging to a recently deceased classmate.
The Personal History of David Copperfield – 16th October
Armando Iannucci’s quick-witted, modern period drama is an absolute delight.

Follow two young British soldiers, Schofield (George MacKay, Captain Fantastic) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman, Game of Thrones) as they are given a seemingly impossible mission. Parasite – 23rd October

Color Out of Space – 28th October
Director Richard Stanley returns with this gloriously gooey HP Lovecraft adaptation starring Nic Cage.
Smallfoot – 30th October
Channing Tatum lends his voice to this family animation about Migo, a friendly yeti who faces banishment from his home after he claims that humans exist – and embarks on a mission to prove himself and earn the respect of the villagers.
Truth Seekers – 30th October
A team of part-time paranormal investigators team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK, sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see. However, as they stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers and abandoned hospitals with their array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos, their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon.
Pegg and Frost head up an impressive cast that includes Malcolm McDowell, Samson Kayo, Susan Wokoma, Emma D’Arcy, Julian Barratt, Kate Nash, Morgana Robinson and the actor Kevin Eldon.
