James R | On 28, Apr 2022
Amazon brings back two big original shows this May, including blockbusting thriller The Wilds and stand-up comedy collection Soho Theatre Live. There’s also intrigue in the form of new drama Night Sky, a dating series narrated by Lindsay Lohan and – reason enough to subscribe in the first place – the best animated film of the past 10 years.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in May 2022:
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse – 6th May
Wholly unique and jaw-droppingly stylish, this progressive, post-modern story of parallel realities is one of the best superhero movies ever made.
The Wilds: Season 2 – 6th May
Part survival thriller, part dystopian slumber party, Amazon’s series follows a group of teen girls from different backgrounds who must fight for survival after a plane crash strands them on a deserted island. The castaways soon learn they did not end up on the island by accident. The series stars Rachel Griffiths, as well as a mix of familiar and fresh faces, including Sophia Ali, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Reign Edwards, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan and Troy Winbush. Season 2 will up the stakes by revealing another group of teenage boys, who must also fight for survival. All eight episodes arrive at once.
The Contractor – 6th May
Chris Pine stars in this thriller as Special Forces Sergeant James Harper, who is involuntarily discharged from the Army and cut-off from his pension. Harper contracts with a private underground military force. When the very first assignment goes awry, he finds himself caught in a dangerous conspiracy and on the run for his life. Also starring Kiefer Sutherland, Ben Foster, Gillian Jacobs and Eddie Marsan.
