What do Glenn Close, David Attenborough, Claire Danes, Tom Hiddleston and Harriet the Spy have in common? They’re all in the mix this May for Apple TV+, as it rolls out a new wave of originals following a string of finales last month.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Apple TV+ UK in May 2022:

Tehran: Season 2 – 6th May

The Apple TV+ thriller follows Tamar, a Mossad hacker-agent who infiltrates Tehran under a false identity to help destroy Iran’s nuclear reactor. But when the mission fails and she’s trapped in a new life, Tamar must plan an operation that will place everyone dear her in jeopardy. Niv Sultan will return to reprise her role as Tamar in Season 2, alongside co-stars Shaun Toub and Shervin Alenabi. Close will play Marjan Montazeri, a British woman living in Tehran, who ups the stakes and complexity of the operations already in motion – with an eye closely on the long game. Episodes 1 and 2 arrive together.

Snoopy Presents: To Mom (and Dad), With Love – 6th May

Apple debuts its latest Peanuts special, just in time for Mother’s Day in the US.

The Big Conn: Season 1 – 6th May

This four-part documentary series tells the unbelievable true story of the larger-than-life attorney Eric C Conn. Conn defrauded the government over half a billion dollars in the largest Social Security fraud case in history. Created by Emmy Award-nominated filmmakers James Lee Hernandez and Brian Lazarte, all episodes arrive at once.

The Essex Serpent: Season 1 – 13th May

Written by Anna Symon and directed by Clio Barnard, the series follows Cora, a newly widowed woman who, have been released from her abusive marriage, moves from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex. There, she becomes intrigued by the superstition that the mythical creature “the Essex Serpent” has returned to the area. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar, but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature. Claire Danes stars as Cora and Tom Hiddleston as Will, with Clémence Poésy and Frank Dillane co-starring as Stella Ransome. The first two episodes together.

Greatness Code: Season 2 – 13th May

This short-form documentary series directed by Gotham Chopra spotlights untold stories from the greatest athletes in the world.

Harriet the Spy: Season 1, Part 2 – 20th May

Based on the iconic children’s novel, it chronicles the coming-of-age adventures of the irrepressible Harriet M Welsch. Set in 1960s New York when the original book was published, Harriet the Spy follows the outspoken and perpetually curious mHarriet M Welsch. More than anything, the fiercely independent and adventurous 11-year-old girl wants to be a writer, and in order to be a good writer, she’ll need to know everything. And to know everything means she’ll need to spy on everyone.

Now and Then: Season 1 – 20th May

This multi-layered thriller explores the differences between youthful aspirations and the reality of adulthood, when the lives of a group of college best friends are forever changed after a celebratory weekend ends up with one of them dead. Now, 20 years later, the remaining five are reluctantly reunited by a threat that puts their seemingly perfect worlds at risk. The first three episodes arrive together, with the remaining five episodes arriving weekly.

Prehistoric Planet: Season 1 – 23rd May

Experience extraordinary dinosaurs in this documentary series narrated by David Attenborough and soundtracked by Hans SZimmer, which travels back 66 million years to when majestic creatures roamed the lands, seas, and skies. The five episodes arrive on consecutive days through the week.
