Apple TV+ unveils what might be its hit show of the year this October, with the debut of Lessons in Chemistry based on the bestselling book of the same name. It’s joined by an equally big feature film debut in the form of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, plus a pair of new documentaries.

Here’s what’s coming soon to Apple TV+ UK in October 2023:

Lessons in Chemistry: Season 1 – 13th October

Set in the early 1950s, Lessons in Chemistry follows Elizabeth Zott (played by Larson), whose dream of being a scientist is put on hold in a patriarchal society. When Elizabeth finds herself fired from her lab, she accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show, and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives — and the men who are suddenly listening — a lot more than recipes. The first two episodes arrive together, followed by episodes weekly until the finale on 24th November.

The Pigeon Tunnel – 20th October

Errol Morris pulls back the curtain on the storied life and career of former British spy David Cornwell — better known as John le Carré, author of such classic espionage novels as The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Constant Gardener. Set against the turbulent backdrop of the Cold War leading into present day, the film spans six decades as le Carré delivers his final and most candid interview, punctuated with rare archival footage and dramatized vignettes. “The Pigeon Tunnel” is a deeply human and engaging exploration of le Carré’s extraordinary journey and the paper-thin membrane between fact and fiction.

Killers of the Flower Moon – 20th October (cinemas)

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Also starring Robert De Niro and Jesse Plemons, “Killers of the Flower Moon” is directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Martin Scorsese, based on David Grann’s bestselling book. Note: In cinemas only, with an Apple TV+ release date to be confirmed.

The Enfield Poltergeist – 27th October

Experience the chilling true story of the world’s most famous poltergeist case through original audio recordings made inside the house as the events unfolded.
