What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in February / March 2019?
David Farnor | On 22, Feb 2019
Nothing reminds you that the year is racing forwards like the disappearance of TV shows and movies from your favourite subscription services, as licences expire and aren’t renewed for the immediate future.
This March, Sky’s box set collection – and NOW’s Entertainment Membership – it’s farewell to new gems Escape at Dannemora and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, plus older gems, such as The Pacific and Grey’s Anatomy.
Sky Cinema, meanwhile, is waving goodbye to Get Out, Beauty and the Beast and Kong: Skull Island.
Whichever you subscribe to, this coming month is your last chance to stream the following:
TV
Grey’s Anatomy: Season 1 to 15 – 28th February
Don’t miss your latest chance to catch up the long-running medical drama.
Scandal: Season 1 to 7 – 28th February
Shonda Rhimes may be headed to Netflix, but there’s still a chance to see the seventh and final season of her enjoyably soapy drama about professional fixers in Washington, D.C..
The Pacific: Season 1 – 14th March
From the team behind Band of Brothers, The Pacific follows three marines as they are thrown into the chaos of the Pacific War during the same conflict.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars: Season 4 – 17th March
All Stars sees RuPaul bring back past contestants to compete for a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame, with Royale and Luzon becoming the first former All Stars participants to return for a second time on the show.
Escape At Dannemora: Season 1 – 19th March
This excellently performed drama is based on the stranger-than-fiction account of a prison break in upstate New York in the summer of 2015 that spawned a massive manhunt for two convicted murderers. Starring Oscar-winners Benicio del Toro (Traffic) and Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), alongside Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood) and Bonnie Hunt (Life with Bonnie).
No Offence: Season 1 and 2 – 19th March
The outrageous police procedural series from the writer of Shameless, starring Joanna Scanlan, is an entertainingly no-nonsense thriller.

Movies
Get Out – 23rd February
“I told you not to go in that house.” Those are the words of Rod Williams (Lil Rel Howery), best friend of Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), upon hearing that his trip to meet his girlfriend’s parents has gone awry. Why? Because Chris is black and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams), is white. In 2017, you might not think that would be a problem, but Get Out is a biting commentary on racism in modern society, one that delivers its point with a whip-smart blend of thrilling horror and dark humour.
Beauty And The Beast – 28th February
Uneven effects stop this well-cast Disney remake from becoming a tale as old as time.
Alien: Covenant – 3rd March
Director Ridley Scott picks up ten years after the events of Prometheus to unleash more xenomorphic terror on an unsuspecting universe. While transporting 2,000 colonists to a distant outpost, the crew of the spaceship Covenant is violently awoken seven years too soon. However, a signal from nearby planet suggests they may have found an equally suitable new home. But as well as finding evidence of civilisation and running into a familiar face, they discover that the place is also infested with the ultimate biohazard…
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 – 20th March
Ooga chaka, ooga ooga…
Kong: Skull Island – 20th March
This vibrant, violent King Kong reboot mixes the thrill of monsters and the fun of world-building in one hairy package.
Moneyball – 20th March
Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill are on excellent form in this drama about unsuccessful baseball prodigy Billy Beane (Pitt), who becomes the manager of the Oakland A’s – and comes up with a radical way to build a better team using maths.
Brave – 25th March
Pixar’s animated gem may look like a story about an archer versus a bear but emerges as a sweet and simple tale of one daughter and her relationship with her mother.
