What’s leaving Amazon Prime Video UK in February / March 2020?
David Farnor | On 22, Feb 2020
From Hunters to Outlander, there’s no end of new box sets to binge on Amazon Prime Video, but don’t miss out on catching up with some modern gems before their rights expire – from the laugh-out-loud Teen Titans Go! series and the coming-of-age classic Edge of Seventeen to Felicity Jones rom-com Chalet Girl, not to mention a whole host of ABC titles.
This is your last chance to stream the following with Amazon Prime UK:
Teen Titans Go! – 28th February
This hilarious, self-aware follow-up to the popular Teen Titans series takes a more comedic look at superheroes including Robin, Raven and Starfire – the ideal counterpoint to Netflix’s gritty Titans.
Chalet Girl – 29th February
The fantastic Felicity Jones gets a chance to take the lead in this hugely enjoyable film about a snowboarder-turned-chalet-girl for a wealthy family. But don’t be fooled: this is more sports movie than rom-com, which makes it a welcome piece of character-driven fun. Think Bridget Jones on ice.
Ugly Betty – 29th February
America Ferrera stars in this charming comedy about Betty, a plain Jane who gets a job at the super-fashionable Mode magazine.
Lost – 29th February
When Oceanic Flight 815 crashed on an island in the Pacific Ocean back in 2004, the ensuing confusion, soul-searching and existential drama, charted by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse over five seasons, changed TV forever.
Grey’s Anatomy – 29th February
Don’t miss your latest chance to catch up the long-running medical drama.
Marvel’s Runaways – 29th February
Hulu’s superhero series, based on the comic books created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, tells the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other, but must unite against a common foe – their parents. When our six L.A. teens stumble onto a terrible secret, they realize their parents have been lying to them all their lives. But what are they after? And why? While the kids investigate, the adults start to wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own… With the third and final season now airing weekly on SyFy, don’t miss your chance to catch up with Season 1.
Edge of Seventeen – 1st March
Hailee Steinfeld is superb in this honest, frank drama about the pains of growing up. Life is no easier for high school junior Nadine, who is already at peak awkwardness when her all-star older brother, Darian (Blake Jenner), starts dating her best friend Krista (Haley Lu Richardson). All at once, Nadine feels more alone than ever. (Watch out for Woody Harrelson in a scene-stealing role as her sarcastic teacher.)
Sunset Song – 4th March
Sunset Song is both Terence Davies’ most lavish film and an adaptation of one of Scotland’s most beloved books.
Molly’s Game – 2nd March
Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba crackle in Aaron Sorkin’s slick poker drama.
IT (2017) – 15th March
Stephen King’s 1986 novel – previously adapted into a TV miniseries starring the scenestealing Tim Curry – gets the big-screen treatment, with Mama director Andy Muschietti ably pulling the strings. Bill Skarsgård (Hemlock Grove) takes over from Curry as Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the malevolent, shape-shifting demon who drags little Georgie Denbrough into the sewers of Derry, Maine – an act which prompts guilt-ridden older brother Bill (Midnight Special’s Jaeden Lieberher) to go looking for answers.
