YouView has launched a new box this week for under £200.
The Humax DTR-T2000 offers the service’s signature seamless on-demand TV guide subscription-free in what the company has called the most compact and fastest box from the YouView Humax range to date.
The exciting part, though, is the price, which is just £199 and available across all major retailers and independents including John Lewis, Tesco, Argos, Currys PC World, plus Humax Direct.
The compact box offers 70 live free-to-air digital TV and radio channels, including six in high definition and up to 300 hours of standard definition recording (SD) or 125 hours of high definition (HD). It also includes a seven-day catch-up service on BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 and record, pause and rewind functionality.
In addition, the easy-to-use TV service offers a library of on-demand television programmes and films. Users can also access a range of quality content via on-demand players from Dave, Yesterday and Really imagined by UKTV, Now TV, Sky Store, milkshake!, S4C and STV in Scotland.
Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax, comments: “The new box offers the first compact Humax YouView product available at a cost-down price point while still providing the high-quality service and choice of programming that customers expect.”
David Faulkner, Head of Corporate and Business Development, YouView adds: “It’s great to see the YouView box offering evolve into a faster slim-line version with the advent of new hardware technology available from Humax. We are confident this new box combined with a lower price point will give customers an affordable and easy-to-use experience to find and enjoy the TV they love.”
